Finding the Best Golf Courses in the World

What some people forget about golf is that the game is as much about the golf course as it is about winning. One of the essences of the game is learning how to enjoy the sights and the sounds of the golf course that one is playing in and be one with the scenery. If you are really into the game of golf then you should try playing in the best golf courses in your area and if you have the money for it you should try and play the best golf courses in the country. The best thing that you can do though if you are really an avid golf lover is to try and play in the best golf courses in the world. To help you out, here are three of the top spots that you should aim for:

Cape Kidnappers, New Zealand- It is as exotic as its name implies. The golf course is built on a former sheep ranch that sits on top of jagged cliffs that plunges down on where rocks meet with the seawater. Breath-taking is one way to describe the place. Just to give you an idea of how stunning this place is, if you hit a ball and it gets misdirected towards the ocean somehow, it is going to take about ten seconds before it hits the seawater. This course was designed by Tom Doak and he intentionally kept much of the harshness of the original sheep farm in the location. The seemingly forbidding landscape with its jutting cliffs and challenging ground offers some challenges that are quite stunning to behold. Players who play here must also challenge the ground and it takes a really determined a good player to come out on top.

Royal County Down, Northern Ireland- The first nine holes of this golf course along the sea has been praised by the former number one golfer in the world Tom Watson as the best that he has ever played anywhere. This course was designed by Tom Morris and it offers significant challenges to the golfer. Players must stay clear of some thick vegetation like tall grasses and trees. The view on this course is quite majestic. It offers a stunning view of the mountains and of the sea. This is certainly one of the must visit places in Northern Ireland.

Pebble Beach, United States- A majority of the finest golf courses in the United States are exclusive only to a select few, but Pebble Beach is an exception. It has none of the American snobbery of other golf course. The rule at Pebble Beach is that if you have the money then you can play. Jack Nicklaus has praised this course immensely. This course was designed and created in the early 20th century and it still continues to provide excellent playing area. This is the site of many memorable golf moments in the history of the sport.

These are just some of the best golf courses where you can try to have the best golf experience in the world.
