The way that you swing is very important to the quality of your golf game. The proper swing is one of the first lessons that you as a golfer must learn, but it is also one of the first things that you tend to forget. Forgetting the basics is one of the more common mistakes that players in any sport commit. So consistency is one the keys for a good game. Once you have studied the fundamentals, stick to them no matter what. In order to help you out further, here are some golf swing basics and tips for keeping your game the way that it should be. Which is as good as you can get it:
Basic Tip#1: The Setup- Setup here means two things, the way that you set up your ball and the way that you condition your mind for the swing. When you step down on the golf course you have to remove all the worries eating you up. Just concentrate on hitting that ball and making the proper swing. Keep the ball about 2 feet away from your feet. Keep your body slightly bent and relaxed. Keep your shoulders to the left of the target line.
Basic Tip#2: Grip- Make sure that your grip is neither too tight nor too loose. It has to be just right. Make it too tight and you’ll end up with a hook. Make it too loose and you’ll get a slice. Find something that you are comfortable with. Practice like with all these golf swing basic tips is crucial to getting it right.
Basic Tip#3: Momentum- The way that you start your swing is going to be important to the overall quality of your backswing. You need to start the swing by raising your club, in one fast motion. The arms must be making all the motion and doing all the work. When you do it right you can get more power from your swing.
Basic Tip#4: Release- Your swing has to be one fluid motion. The downswing should be faster than the backswing so there is going to be more power. Do not slow down on the downswing because that is the moment when you can compensate for and create mistakes in your backswing.
Basic Tip#5: Watch the Ball- Some golfers might feel that it is ridiculous to include this tip here but you need to keep an eye on the ball. Simple, obvious but watch how many folks take their eye of the ball just before they hit it. A deadly mistake.
Basic Tip#6: Stance- Your stance should be simple and relaxed. The stance should be shoulder width and the knees bent a little. You should be able to take a little push without toppling over or adjusting your feet, so you need to be perfectly balanced in your stance. Remember to place your weight on the balls of your feet.
These are just some of the basic golf tips that I can give you. The secret is to keep these things in mind and try to find something that you are comfortable using within them. Once you have found that perfect combination you should never vary from them unless to correct mistakes, and be consistent in observing your swing and focusing on the basics. Consistency goes a long way in any sport or activity but it is even more valuable in the game of golf, so you have to be consistent with your swing and practice it often.
