Why Use Slazenger Golf Balls?

Slazenger is a British manufacturer of sports equipment. It is one of the oldest brands when it comes to sports equipment in the world. Although the company was first formally established in 1890 it can actually trace its roots back to 1810. Slazenger golf balls go way back, the first one, nicknamed “The Guttie” was made and marketed in 1891. Their golf balls are highly regarded all over the world and are considered even by professionals to be good enough for use in professional competitions. There are a couple of professional golfers who have used Slazenger golf balls almost exclusively to win tournaments in the past.

Slazenger produces several lines of golf balls. Raw Distance, Players, Money, and Raw Titanium are just a few of the lines of golf balls that they have to offer today. Each of these have different characteristics to offer the player. The Raw series of balls are made using a two piece construction process. The average compression of a Slazenger ball is 90, although there are some variations between the different lines. The relatively lower compression makes the Slazenger balls perfect for golfers who have a swing speed that is a little slower than most. That means that these balls are ideal for many amateurs especially those who are just starting to learn the game. The balls utilize an ionomer material for its core and a cover stock that is enhanced with titanium.

Mid and high handicappers are those that are primarily targeted by the marketing of Slazenger golf balls and the good news is that their prices are really competitive. You can buy a box of Slazenger golf balls for about $25 and each box contains 24 balls translating to a little over a dollar for each ball. That’s not a bad deal for a high quality golf ball. If you need a variation of their ball that has a softer feel to it then go for the Raw Feel line. When it comes to the distance that can be achieved by the different variations and series there is no real difference that you can notice.

Like any other product line there are some drawbacks when you decide to use Slazenger golf balls. The main sacrifice that you have to make with this brand is that you have to give up some level of control if you are a player with a high speed swing. This is because of the lower compression of these balls. The Raw Titanium line has a very hard feel to it that most players might not like, because that reduces the ability of giving some spin to the flight of the ball. Some say that it is reminiscent of Top Flite golf balls because of that characteristic.

Altogether I recommend Slazenger golf balls to golfers but they are especially recommended for those who are just starting to get their own feel for the game. While it does have its drawbacks, it has a lot good benefits too and besides it is very affordable golf ball. You won’t mind losing one or two of them every so often and after all, golf should be a game of fun non?
